DRIVING
Mabamba lodge can be accessed both from Kampala and Entebbe via car or ferry. We recommend using the road as opposed to Ferry due to the unpredictability of the ferry service.
ROUTE FROM KAMPALA
- By following the old Entebbe-Kampala road, branching to Kisubi and from Kisbui turning right to Nakawuka. From here, you will approach a roundabout, taking the first left towards Kasanje, which will bring you into Kasanje town. From here, take a left towards Nakiwogo road, until you reach sanyu city (Church) - (Please look out for the Mabamba Lodge sign post) Take a left for Mabamba road and drive passed a school of Marine, keep driving until you reach Bavubi road. Here you will see the sign post, Mabamba Lodge. Take a left & hurrah you have reached!
ROUTE FROM MUNYOYO
Please note this route has TOLLS.
Take Entebbe expressway and drive through Kajjansi, exit off to Kitende road on your right, then turn left and drive until Kisubi - from Kisbui turning right to Nakawuka. From here, you will approach a roundabout, taking the first left towards Kasanje, which will bring you into Kasanje town. From here, take a left towards Nakiwogo road, until you reach sanyu city (Church) - (Please look out for the Mabamba Lodge sign post) Take a left for Mabamba road and drive passed a school of Marine, keep driving until you reach Bavubi road. Here you will see the sign post, Mabamba Lodge. Take a left & hurrah you have reached!
FERRY
Nakiwogo-Buwaya ferry
From Kampala or Entebbe head for Nakiwogo landing site located in Entebbe where you take a 10 minute ferry crossing to Buwaya landing site.
TO NOTE:
- Monday - Saturday x 9 times a day, first service from Buwaya starts at 06:30am and Nakiwogo 07:15am
- Sunday - x 4 Trips (2 morning & 2 afternoon ), first service 0800am from Buwaya and last at 4pm.
Ferry times are uncertain, however it is important to note between 1000-1100am & 1300-1400 no ferries available due to break.
Please note, the ferry is free & licensed to carry 120 passengers, 10 cars, and 20 motorcycles so waiting times are uncertain if using a car.
If you're accessing the lodge without a car, we recommend using a wooden motorised boat, this will cost 3,000ugx per trip if sharing and we can either organise a car pick up or a boda boda (motorcycle)
